'BILL'  WILFRED S. WAKE   RAF AIRCREW

Bill, from Croydon South London,  is the current Co-President of our Association. He served with the Squadron in 1943 and 1944 for a year. We were thrilled when he made contact with us via letter a couple of years ago (2022). He writes:

" you will know that your Flight Correspondent, Keith Wilkinson, identified me through a friend of mine, Keith Davis, as a wartime member of 458 Squadron. It is a remarkable and wonderful thing that the original members and their children and grandchildren should have perpetuated the memory of the squadron over so many years. I had no idea that you ran such an organisation; it was clearly a special squadron and I am proud to have been with it for a year in 1943/1944. ........Wishing you all the very best. Yours very sincerely, Wilfred (Bill) Wake."
